Services
Alec's career in service and hospitality started over 30 years ago working in restaurant kitchens and on food service crews.
Spending countless hours behind the scenes of successful restaurants and hotels taught him that more than anything; a customer remembers outstanding service delivered with a smile.
From his humble beginnings, Alec went on to found and become the CEO of a $50 million San Diego hospitality company he grew from the ground up: ARES Travel, Inc.
During his successful journey with ARES, he discovered that great companies are built with great people.
At HoodFlo, we clean kitchen exhaust systems in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association's restaurant vent hood cleaning code requirements (NFPA 96 standards).
We achieve this standard by using highly trained technicians; specialized cleaning methodologies and innovative equipment.
This restaurant hood exhaust cleaning service is our most comprehensive and involves cleaning the entire exhaust system including hoods, ducts, fans, vents and other grease removal devices.
For this service, we use two to three qualified technicians who clean the exhaust system concurrently: a roof technician (upper portion of exhaust system); a duct work technician and a hood technician (lower portion of exhaust system).
Regular exhaust cleaning is the best form of fire prevention in restaurants and other facilities with a commercial kitchen.
The grease deposits in these systems can be easily ignited and cause a structural fire.
The statistics from the National Fire Protection Association indicate that in an average year there are 11,100 structure fires in eating and drinking establishments in the United States resulting in $163.1 million in direct property damage.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is the governing body providing the minimum codes of standards for the kitchen exhaust cleaning industry via the NFPA 96: Standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations.
