Services
Other cleaners may have higher prices because they have to tack on an environmental surcharge to dispose of the chemicals used in traditional dry-cleaning.
Colonial Cleaners can save you money through Green Cleaning.
We can treat all types of fabrics, including silks, wedding dresses, suede and leather, area rugs, comforters, quilts, linens, etc.
We use one of the two methods of non-toxic cleaning; Liquid Silicone and professional Wet Cleaning.
Our trained staff chooses the method that is ideal for each garment.
The Liquid Silicone Process is derived from silicone, which is a natural element that makes up more than one-fourth of the earth's crust (sand).
We use liquified silicone, with its slippery liquid and mineral-oil-like texture, and combine it with compatible, non-toxic detergent to create a gentle cleaning agent safe for your clothes and the environment.
We clean with liquid silicone, a safe, natural byproduct of sand.
Traditional dry cleaners use a petroleum-based solvent called perc.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulates perc as a toxic air contaminate because it can be harmful to humans.
Our cleaning solution is chemically inert, which means it doesn't interact with fabric at all.
It merely carries the detergent to the clothing and then carries away the dirt and stains.
You can see the difference!
Whites don't yellow.
Fabrics stay soft.
Your wedding dress will be cleaned, pressed, and preserved in an acid-free bridal chest surrounded by acid-free tissues to prevent yellowing.
This will help to ensure your dress stays beautiful for years to come.
It takes approximately three weeks, but we can expedite your preservation if the timing is your concern.
The price will vary for each dress, based on the uniqueness of the style, trim, and fabric.
A simple A-line dress without embellishment will be less expensive than a dress with many layers and a long train.
