For over 60 years, A-1 Vacuum has been serving our valued customers in St Paul, MN from humble beginnings in the basement of the founder's home to a small store on Arcade Street on the east side of St Paul.
As the business grew A-1 Vacuum moved to a newer, larger store located on Rice Street at Summit Avenue (no longer a corner) in the late fifties and early sixties.
In about 1965 A-1 Vacuum moved again up to Rice Street at University Avenue near the State Capitol because the old store was in the way of a big construction project that eventually made way for the "practice freeway" I-35E.
As the business grew A-1 Vacuum moved to a newer, larger store located on Rice Street at Summit Avenue (no longer a corner) in the late fifties and early sixties.

Here are a few tips to help your vacuum stay in top condition:.
Belts stretch, even when they are not in use.
A stretched or damaged belt won't turn the brush assembly as effectively and dirt won't be loosened from deep in the carpet fibers.
Belts should be replaced every three to four months, sooner if the vacuum is used more.
Clean the brush roller at least every two weeks, depending on usage.
Thread, string, and pet hair can get caught on the brushes, putting a strain on the brush roller, the belt, and the motor.
